Amnerfield Miniature Railway. [MAP][WEBSITE]
Address: Amners Farm, Burghfield, Reading. RG30 3UE.
Directions:The track Can be seen just south of the M4 halfway between junction 11 & 12.
M4 from London take Junction 11, turn left onto A33.Approximately 600 metres to roundabout take the third exit.
(The roundabout where we turn right is currently being altered so it may be traffic lights or reshaped or even relocated) .
Ignoring the no through rd watch out and take the next right which is easy to miss. This road meanders a bit but look out for the road crossing over the motorway and take the left turn just before it. After passing through the single width bridge traffic lights you will come to a T junction turn right and within a few hundred metres look out for and take the farm track on the left with the various business signs at the entrance.(And a large railway signal if the farmer has put it out)
Access to the steaming bays have changed. You need to take the second gate on the left signposted car park then sharp left into the railway car park. You will see the raised steaming track ahead.

Bedford Model Engineering Society. [MAP]
Address:Summerfields Farm, Summerfields, Haynes, Beds. MK45 3BH. (On A600 between Hitchin and Bedford)
Directions:From London leave the M1 at junction 12(immediately after Toddington Services)and turn right on to the A5120(set your mileage trip for following distances).
Stay on the A5120 into Westoning(very active speed camera) and at mini roundabout(1.9m)turn right signed Greenfield/Flitton. Follow the road through passing the church(4.4) and turn left into Flitton Hill(4.7), turn left at T-junction and immediately turn right onto Ampthill bypass signed Clophill/Luton.
At roundabout
EITHER turn left onto the A6 signed Bedford, turn right signed Haynes(8.5). Follow the road through and turn left up Plummers Lane(10.5). Continue straight through village until reaching T-junction with A600(11.4). Turn left then left again into BMES(11.6) with adverts for Second Hand Alley and The Pine Barn and Summerfield Miniature Railway.
OR Cross the A6 and take the A507 Shefford. At roundabout(10.0) turn left onto A600 signed Bedford. stay on the A600 until arriving at BMES(13.8).
The first route is prettier, shorter but rural while the alternative is easier with A roads all the way.

Directions: From Junction 7 of the M25 take the M23 away from London, then A23.
As you approach Brighton on the A23(London Rd) you pass through 2 white pillars called "Whitegates".
Within a half mile or so you approach a large roundabout, get in the right hand lane and make a 270 degree turn on the roundabout into Mill Road passing the garage on your right.
At the next roundabout go straight across into King George VI Avenue sign posted West Hove & Portslade.
At the hill bottom turn sharp left into Goldstone Crescent.
Ignore side roads until you get to a cross road with the park on the right. Turn right into Woodlands Drive and go to the top of the hill.
Turn left into The Droveway(passes between the British Engineerium and Co-op Superstore). Go to the bottom where you enter the park and drive to the left with care around the footpath and up to the steaming bays.

Directions: Extract from RAC route planner.
Leave the M25 at junction M25/J29 and straight ahead into A127 (Southend Arterial Road) direction [A127] BASILDON, SOUTHEND. Continue straight into A127 (Southend Arterial Road). After 2.4 miles just after what used to be a roundabout take the 1st Exit off sign posted A176. At the end of the slip road take the first exit of the roundabout into A176 (Upper Mayne). After 1.2 miles take the 1st Exit off the roundabout into A1321 (Broadmayne). After 1.8 miles take the 3rd Exit off the roundabout into A132 (South Mayne). After 0.9 miles take the 2nd Exit off the roundabout into A13. 1.5 miles Continue straight into A13. After 269 yards take the 2nd Exit off the Sadlers Farm (Roundabout) into A130 (Canvey Way). 0.9 miles. Continue straight into A130 (Canvey Way). You are entering CANVEY ISLAND. After 1.6 miles take the 2nd Exit off the roundabout into B1014 (Somnes Avenue). The club track is immediately to the right. After 100 yds turn right into the sports complex then right again through bar gate to club house and steaming bays ahead.

Address:Rear of Car Park, Meteor Way, off Waterhouse Lane, Chelmsford, Essex.
Directions: From M25 Junction 28, turn north east onto the A12.
After some miles take the branch to Chelmsford sign posted A414.
After this junctions slip road rounderbout it carries on dual carriageway.
Next there are two rounderbouts close together. Go straight over the first and take the first exit off the second.
This is the A138 Westway.
Go through two sets of lights and you will be in Waterhouse Lane.
Look out for a council pitch and putt on the left. Take Meteor Way immediately on the right opposite. (If you go over the bridge for the river you have gone too far.)
About a hundred yards from the junction enter the car park on the right. Head for the Meteor aircraft and you will see the track in the corner.

Directions: From London take the M1 to junction 29 then second left on to the A617 to Chesterfield.Go straight over the roundabout where the A61 crosses.Turn right at the next roundabout.(Away from the town centre). Go under the A61 flyover on to the A632 to Bolsover(straight ahead at the lights). The road climbs for some distance and as it reaches the top look out for the sign on the left for St Peter & Paul School. Take this left turning into the grounds. Within 100 yards is a turning on the right which drops down to the club site. The unloading line is directly ahead over the main track then on the right. This feeds to the steaming bays via a turntable.

Directions: Taking M3 from London turn east towards Portsmouth on to the M27.
Exit at junction nine turning right to take the duel carriageway south.
At the next roundabout take the first exit then straight over a mini roundabout Barnes Wallis Rd, which takes you through the Segenworth East Industrial Estate.
Go Straight on over another mini roundabout which is Segensworth Rd the road bends to the right then take the next left.
The road goes up a small incline. Fareham & District SME is to be found down the other side on the right before the T Junction.
Take the galvanised five bar gate on the left following the track to the end.

Frimley Lodge Miniature Railway. [MAP][WEBSITE]
Address: Frimley Lodge Park, Sturt Rd, Frimley Green, Surrey.
Directions: Taking M3 from London exit Junction 4, turn left onto A331.
(Note the slip road turns back on itself so you actually turn right at the roundabout).
At 2nd main Junction turn left to Mytchett.
At Y-fork junction turn left.
At T-Junction with B3411 turn left then within a couple of hundred yards turn right into Frimley Lodge Park.
As soon as you enter, turn right again. It folds back against the boundary fence. Turn left at the first tarmaced turning across the park. It takes you to the steaming bays and club house ahead and the canal to the left.

Directions: At Junction 15 of M4 turn right onto A419.
Within a mile there is a new overpass of a roundabout. Do not use it. Take the slip road sign posted Swindon and turn left onto A4259 towards Swindon.
You will pass the traffic lights for the new hospital entrance then also ignore a couple of minor road junctions on the left. Just as you see the next roundabout down hill (200 yards or so in front) turn left. Then 300 yards or so turn right, immediately before the cottage, and follow track to end.

Address: Directions:Take the M4 to junction 10 then south on the A329M towards Bracknell. At the first junction take the A329 in to Wokingham. On reaching the one way system take the first main left onto Easthampton Rd.(Not the turning before into the car park) Follow until you get to the end and turn right on to the Old Wokingham Rd. Pinewood Leisure Centre is on the right. Once in the site turn right and follow the road down to the end. You will see the station and our parking.

Directions: Take the A1 north to junction 9 and then follow the signs to A505 Royston.
At Royston turn left to join the A10 going north.
After 2.1 miles(ignoring the first turning earlier) take the second turning right to Melbourn.Its just past a farm shop on the left.
Within 200 yds or so turn right into Station Rd signposted Meldreth and Whaddon(this takes you under the A10). It then goes over a railway bridge after which you turn left at the Island with war memorial and bus shelter signposted Whaddon.
Within half a mile turn right at the cross road into Fenny Lane.
After the cemetary look for a turning on your right for the car park of Meldreth Manor School, signposted Meldreth Manor Equestrian Centre. Go past the equestian centre on your right and you will see the track in the field beyond.

Address: Audley End House. Audley End , Saffron Walden.
Directions: Take the M11 north to junction 8 and at the roundabout take the second exit on to the A120.
Go straight over the second roundabout and at the third turn right on to the B1383.
Go through Stansted Mount Fitchet, Quendon, Newport, and past Saffron Waldon. Ignore the first sign to Audley End House.
After another 2-3 miles you will pass a left turn to Wendons Ambo. Look out for a weak bridge sign max weight 3 tons for a road on the right as you go round a left hand bend. Take this road which will go over the hump bridge. Audley End House will be seen on the left but you will be turning right in to the estate railway car park. Keep to the left there is a 5 bar gate ahead. Go through it and make sure to re-shut it if closed. If the estate railway is running the next gate will be closed. Do not open the gate until advised as it protects the railway. The steaming bays are directly ahead and to your right, by the hut which serves as the club house.

At roundabout turn left onto the B6068 (signposted Bakewell,Castleton). At Traffic lights turn left onto the A621 (signposted Bakewell).Look out for the wooded area on the right.Just before drives to houses reappear you will see the metal 5 bar entrance gate through a low stone wall beyond the verge.(Its before Dore Rd, opposite house no:283) The drive passes through the woods. Turn left past the front of the club house and you will find the access to the steaming bays on the left.

Address: Buckinghamshire Railway Centre, Quainton Rd Station, Quainton, Bucks.HP22 4BY
Directions: From London take either the M40 junction 4 or M25 junction 20 to Aylesbury. From Aylesbury take the A41 west to Banbury. After passing under a railway bridge look out and take a turning to the right sign posted to the railway Centre. Then take the first left to Quainton(It is some distance) In the village its sign posted left again down Station Rd. The Centre car park is quite a way outside the village on the left.You will see the road rising to cross the railway via bridge.Instead of turning into the car park take the track just past it(Still on the left of the road before the bridge.) Go through the large farmers type gate ahead.(remember to close it behind you). Turn sharp right though the gate between the new and old stations.Keeping the main tracks just to your right join the tarmac path which takes you straight down to the far end of the site,past the right of the large engine shed. The road then crosses the engine shed rails diagonally left then right, up a sharp incline. the steaming bays for the minature railway are on the left .
